THE PROBLEM: HEAT RASH Humid climes can leave your skin with an uncomfortable prickling sensation and a raised red rash.
THE SOLUTION: ALOE VERA ‘Heat rash is caused by a blockage of sweat glands in hot weather. Once it comes up, it’s important to make sure you’re keeping cool and avoiding heavy creams which can further block the skin,’ says Dr Wedgeworth. ‘Wear light, cotton clothing, keep in the shade and use a fan. It will take a couple of days to settle, but soothe the rash with a light aloe vera gel kept in the fridge.’ Aloe not only cools, but acts as an anti-inlammatory, plus studies suggest it can speed wound healing by improving blood circulation and preventing cell death.
