BEGINNER’S GUIDE

The first floatation tank was created by the American physician and neuroscientist Dr John C Lilly in the 1950s. It’s been adapted over the decades, and has recently gained popularity as we increasingly look for different ways to unwind. The idea is that by floating weightlessly in buoyant, salty water with no sound or light to distract your mind, you can completely relax into a nearmeditative state. In Sweden, patients can even be referred to a float tank centre by their GP or employer.
