Karen and Joe started by moving the sink to the end of the kitchen so that it faces the garden. The outlook is pleasant and makes it easier to keep an eye on a busy toddler

My room...
A bit about me
I’m Karen Clough and I live with my husband, Joe, and our daughter, Luna, aged one. Our home is a threebedroom 1930s house in Manchester, Lancashire.
My problem kitchen
Nothing had been updated in the house for years and years – it was unloved and completely unliveable. There was no central heating, the bathroom was rotten and the kitchen was practically non-existent except for a sink. I was desperate for a large, open space where the family can gather, but the bathroom and central heating took priority.
