CARL HESTER ON DUJARDIN'S SIX TITLES AND THE NEXT CHARLOTTE
Carl Hester has had no shortage of talented riders for the past two decades from Kate Cowell to Spencer Wilton, Lucy Cartwright and, of course, his most successful protégé to date, Charlotte Dujardin. Charlotte drew the crowds at Hartpury College on the weekend as she showed off one of a plethora of her part-owned superstars for our covershoot. Having experienced emotional torment when Olympic hero Valegro’s sale was uncertain, she now smartly chooses to invest in most of her rides. While Charlotte took six titles at the winter championships, Carl’s latest stable jockey, Sadie Smith, won the top class, drawing the comment, “she’s just like Charlotte”.
