Icon Winter 2023 Curl up next to the fire with our winter issue as we transport you from Copenhagen to the Big Apple and beyond. If you’re planning your 2024 adventures, flick through the pages as we share how to make the most of Oslo with travel tips from local design insiders. In ICON 214, we also sit down with Cecilie Bahnsen for a special interview, as the Copenhagen-based designer shares her insights on embracing originality and authenticity in fashion. Fusing Scandinavian minimalism with the traditions of French fashion, her unique collections are loved the world over. Elsewhere, this issue aims to celebrate a broader definition of design and architecture as we look at the future of construction. Read up on a recent collaboration between circular materials company EasyMining and Form Us With Love that has been exploring design-friendly uses for sand that is generated as a by-product of waste recovery. Continuing with this boundary-pushing theme, The Missing Thread: Untold Stories of Black British Fashion at Somerset House, showcases key moments in British design. From sound systems to dresses worn by Princess Diana, O.G Studios’ design shines new light on the often- overlooked Black influence on British fashion. This and more in our winter issue!

Icon Magazine was established as a British design and architecture magazine in 2003, by Marcus Fairs, who was the first digital journalist to be awarded with an Honorary Fellowship of the Royal Institute of British Architects. The magazine is part of the Media 10 group and celebrated its 150th issue in 2015, where a redesign took place and it was split into the three sections that you enjoy today - Lifestyle, Architecture and Objects.
