HISTORY is fascinating, and – it not being a double period of Maths – most youngsters in secondary school quite enjoy learning about the social transformations of the Industrial Revolution, the Unification of Germany, and the Battle of Britain. In Kilmarnock Academy we learned all about Ancient Egypt, the Battle of Bannockburn, the Congress of Vienna and Prince Metternich, and left school with Highers thinking ourselves experts.
