MY LIFE IN CAMPANIA

Worcester-based David Carroll (pictured with daughter Chloe, right, and son Peter, top) owns a two-bedroom apartment in the Chiaia district of Naples. He and his children usually spend three weeks there every summer, as well as a week at Christmas and Easter. At all other times of the year, the apartment offers holiday rentals managed by a local agency.

But I just love the buzz of Naples. I love Neapolitans and their energy, and I wanted to be in the heart of this place. I first came here on business twenty years ago, and it was love at first sight. How many other cities have the Mediterranean on one side and a whacking great volcano on the other side? I’d never been anywhere like it. Naples has such a distinct character and personality. And the food is to die for.
