Jaguar Enthusiast  |  Vol 29 No.10 X-350 XJ Special Birthday Issue
Firstly this month, it is with sadness that I have to report that Mark Bennetts, from our offi ce staff , has now left us. Mark, still a young
man with a growing family, needed to look to his longterm future and a recent offer to him, involving substantially greater renumeration, has
unfortunately enticed him away.
Mark worked well with the team at Bristol and we had high hopes of
retaining his services, but appreciate his situation and we all wish him the
very best for the future in his new job. The Club is now advertising for a
replacement and if anyone is interested in more information (and live in a
commutable distance of Bristol), they should get in touch with Graham
Searle at the Club’s office initially. As regular readers may have noticed,
our classified advertisement section of the magazine has been expanding
with more for sale/wanted ads, both for vehicles and for parts and services.
This is tied in with the development of our own website, specifi cally for this purpose. If you were not aware, you can read more ads and more detail on some ads by visiting the site at www. jaguarclassifieds.org.uk or go via the Club’s website at www.jec.org.uk
On a totally diff erent subject, ethanol is a subject that turns the stomachs
of most classic car enthusiasts and something there is still not enough
information known about. The general consensus is that the addition of
ethanol to petrol is detrimental to older engines, although others think it has no harmful long term eff ects. Additives are already on the market which supposedly counteract any aspects of harm and the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs’ has also been carrying out research into this matter.
