What’s YOUR Treaty territory? When newcomers came from Europe to Canada, they made agreements with First Nations people to use their land. But the two groups had very different ideas about what these Treaties mean, and that shaped our country forever. Learn more about the statement from a King that should have left a huge part of North America under First Nations control, and then discover how Treaties were made to find out which one covers your home. Or maybe the area where you live is unceded (never shared as part of a Treaty). Decide who’s right and who’s wrong in a story about a B.C. man and his truck. Follow the Cree of James Bay in Quebec as they stand up to the government to protect their land and create the first modern Treaty. We all have so much to learn and so much to share — we are all Treaty people!
