THE WONDERS OF WILD GARLIC

In mid April, I start to get cravings for garlic bread after bike rides. This is because the lanes and woods are suddenly full of wild garlic, and the aroma gradually increases in potency over a few weeks. In May, the garlic erupts into clouds of white flowers, usually with a backdrop of bluebells further into the shade of the woods. It’s a sight that can take your breath away – as well as leaving you hungry!
