The hard-working gardeners at Ashbourne Road and District Allotments are not just rewarded with pristine produce. They were recently recognised by the local community too, as Potty Plotter Elaine Crick explains
Fellow Potty Plotter Julia with Martin and Kevin looking at the ‘new new’ starter plots

Graduation ceremonies are not just for university students - or so it appears. They can include amazing starter plotters from Ashbourne Road and District Allotments, BBC Radio presenters like Andy Twigge (Twiggy) as well as The Potty Plotters too! All were ‘cordially invited’ to the Derby City Council and Derby University Green Space Awards Service for a surprise introduction to the Lord Mayor of Derby Frank Harwood and other fine dignitaries - a fabulous evening and a very gratifying recognition of everyone’s hard work. Each and all were presented with certificates of achievement and, for once, allotmenteers were up there among the stars! What a triumph!
