A group of eight people from Bearsden Cross travelled to France to help deepen and strengthen the twinning relationship begun last year with l’Église Réformée de Poitiers.
Highlights of the four-day visit included a trip to the Protestant Museum in La Rochelle to learn of the struggle of the Huguenots and an opportunity to see the magnificent painted nave ceiling of the Abbey church of Saint-Savin. The group also met with the Jewish community, other local reformed denominations and with groups supporting refugees and homeless children in the Poitiers area, and shared a communion service with their hosts.
