SIGHTS
(bellagio.com)
Changing with the seasons, Bellagio’s free conservatory displays ostentatious loral arrangements, installed by crane through a 50ft ceiling. The efect is unnatural, but that doesn’t stop crowds gawking, and the aroma of fresh blooms is enchanting. Peek around the periphery of the conservatory for classic paintings re-created with buds and lowers instead of oil paints.
Fremont Street Experience
(vegasexperience.com)
A ive-block pedestrian mall topped by a steel canopy and illed with computer-controlled lights: that’s the Fremont Street Experience. Every evening, the canopy is transformed by light-and-sound shows enhanced by 550,000 watts of wraparound sound and a larger-than-life screen lit up by 12.5-million synchronised LEDs. Soar through the air on ziplines strung beneath the canopy from Slotzilla, a 12-storey slot-machine-themed platform. Gaudy, yes. Weird, absolutely. Busy: always.
