Food dudes
SAM BOMPAS AND HARRY PARR are the Willy Wonkas of original culinary experiences: their CV runs to a 200-course meal, a foating rooftop bar and a breathable cocktail cloud (alcoholicarchitecture.com). In London, they have just opened the British Museum of Food, the world’s frst dedicated to the subject, where exhibits run from multi-sensory chocolate tasting to knitted full Englishes (bmof.org). We asked them where they’ve found inspiration.
Dublin
‘Dublin has some of the best drink-related experiences around, and beautiful pubs: 18th-century landowners brought over English craftsmen to work on their houses, and pub landlords commissioned them on their days off. Dublin’s pubs inspired our Guinness Storehouse project there, working with scientists to create what’s offcially the best place to taste Guinness in the world.’
