We reveal the winning images for our monthly Instagram competiton, this issue on the theme of ‘kaleidoscope’ @lonelyplanetmags

Our favourite shot

My cousin and I travelled through Iran last summer, and my main reason for being there was to walk the tiled floor of the Nasir al-Molk mosque in Shiraz. We arrived super early and banged on the door knocker for the caretaker to let us in. It meant we got to see sunlight burst through the stained glass windows and make its way from one side of the winter prayer hall to the other. It was magic – in that moment, I wouldn’t have traded places with anyone.
