My travel life

We chat travel inspiration with rising star Konsta Punkka, a Finnish photographer known for his inventive animal portraits @kpunkka

Why do you like taking photos of wildlife?

Living in cities and being busy all the time, we humans oten don’t take time to look around us. But, even in urban areas, there is so much wildlife. I like that I can take pictures of animals that people are maybe too busy to notice. I take my camera only a mile or so from my home in Helsinki – and it’s spectacular. I love to ind extraordinary things in a place we think of as ordinary, and then I like to take an intimate portrait of the animal, and think about how the animal might be feeling.
