Barely have we weaned ourselves off New York quartet Big Thief’s U.F.O.F album, released in May, than news reaches us of a followup. Described by the band as U.F.O.F’s “celestial twin”, Two Hands is due out on 11 October through 4AD.
While the band’s third album was recorded in the shady calm of Bear Creek Studios in Washington state, this time round Adrianne Lenker and co. braved the searing temperatures of the Sonic Ranch studio near El Paso, just a stone’s throw from the Mexican border. Long Live Vinyl’s early listens reveal a visceral live-recorded album, with lyrics concerned with the climate crisis. The band have also announced a show at London’s Eventim Apollo on 27 February.
