Master Detective  |  Master Detective April 2018
It’s now more than 50 years since 25-year-old Patricia Docker was horrifically murdered by an unknown killer after a night out at Glasgow’s Barrowland Ballroom. Two further murders, those of clubbers Jemima McDonald in August 1969 and Helen Puttock in October 1969, were attributed to the same killer, who was dubbed Bible John by the press. All three murders remain unsolved but speculation persists in some quarters that notorious Scottish serial killer Peter Tobin could have been the perpetrator. Turn to “Bible John – Will We Ever Know The Truth?” in this issue for the full story.
Elsewhere, MD Forum this issue looks at an intriguing case from 1920s Hampshire. “Yes, yes, yes, I am guilty,” said the killer. But should his mental condition have been considered in the judgment?
