Have you noticed that the world has gone to shit since Slayer hung up their guitars in 2019? Luckily Kill Grid is the perfect antidote for those missing the thrash gods, with every song from exhilarating opener The Doctrine onwards honouring Messrs Araya, King, Lombardo and Hanneman. More clinical than debut At The Walls, but with enough dirt still under the fingernails, the urgent UXO and Curtain Fire’s imperious dread drip with the giddy thrill of divebomber solos, pulverising drum rolls and menacing intent. Malignance’s riffs might be a little too familiar but there’s enough bark in Knox Colby’s vocals and crossover swagger to ensure Enforced’s proud and joyous display of their influences falls short of outright imitation.
