MEAT LOAF (BAT OUT OF HELL II: BACK INTO HELL, 1993)
1977’s Bat Out Of Hell is one of the biggest, unnecessarily dramatic exercises in stadium rock ever recorded. Even today, it sounds ludicrous. With Meat’s popularity in the pits following a few stinkers, songwriter Jim Steinman dug into the Bat mindset and birthed a sequel of Wagnerian, nigh-on biblical proportions. Despite being released at the height of grunge, Bat Out Of Hell II was a hit. Fangtastic.
