LEMMY WAS ONE of the most metal men to have ever lived, so it’s only fitting that some of his ashes have been enshrined in a gigantic metal memorial statue.
Set up as a permanent fixture at France’s Hellfest to replace a previous statue that had begun to crumble, the 12-metre Lemmy statue was created by sculptor Caroline Brisset and unveiled at the 2022 edition of the event. Hellfest even arranged a special commemoration ceremony on June 23, after Scorpions closed the main stage. It was attended by Motörhead alumni Mikkey Dee and Phil Campbell, who paid tribute to their fallen comrade.
