METAL HAS LONG been friends with horror, but gory new film The Retaliators aims to take their relationship to the next level. Made by Better Noise Films, it features appearances from musicians such as Papa Roach’s Jacoby Shaddix, Mötley Crüe’s Tommy Lee, Ice Nine Kills’ Spencer Charnas and members of Five Finger Death Punch. Not only that, but those artists and more are featured on a 17-song soundtrack, plus the score was written by Stranger Things composers Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein. It’s fair to say, it’s a hell of a spectacle.
The film follows pastor John Bishop (played by Michael Lombardi, who starred in US comedy-drama Rescue Me), a peaceful single father who’s devoted to his two daughters, and faces the ultimate horror when one of them is brutally murdered. Events take an even more gruesome, unexpected turn, and he must decide whether to stick to his moral code or turn his back on God and take revenge.
