The problems at Glensanda quarry – or, more specifically, the company awarded the load and haul contract, Oban Earthworks – continue to drag on.
The GMB Scotland trade union now says that Oban Earthworks has backtracked on the number of redundancies it is seeking from its workforce.
A few weeks ago, it was reported that the company wanted to shed 25 jobs, more than half its staff. Oban Earthworks then responded by saying it was ‘unlikely’ there would be any compulsory redundancies.
