NHS HIGHLAND wants people to wash their hands and wrap up warmly in order to stem the spread of norovirus.
Director of public health Professor Hugo van Woerden urged people to wash and dry hands before preparing food, eating or drinking.
Professor van Woerden said: ‘Norovirus is highly contagious and is easily spread. At this time of year people are much closer together physically, whether it be in crowded trains or buses with little ventilation, department stores bustling with shoppers or people partying.
