THE failings in the waste collection system in Argyll and Bute continues to be the source of a huge amount of discussion.
Hannah Karpinski explained: ‘It’s not a case of recycle more or more frequent collections. The problem is that since changing to three weekly collections many bins are not being collected as the lorries are full before the end of their route.’
Robert Smith posted: ‘It’s all to do with cost cutting so they could get rid off a bin lorry, they wanted to bring in shift work but that was knocked back for now but it will come imagine trying to get into places at 10’oclock at night, they are trying to copy cities who do shift work, but they forget Oban is a town and Argyll is a big area to cover, they would be better to ask the men that are doing the job daily, but as always happens they are the last to know what’s happening.’
