A HIGHLAND councillor is urging the Scottish Government and NHS Highland to do more to meet health and policy needs for the isle of Skye.
Angela MacLean, who came second for Lib Dems in last week’s election, is calling for the two bodies to work together and set up an independent panel. Councillor MacLean’s intention is to increase interaction with communities on Skye whom she believes have been ‘utterly failed’ up until now.
She said: ‘Having carefully considered the issue and spoken with many local people, I have come to the conclusion that NHS Highland and the Scottish Government have failed to listen and engage with communities on Skye.’
