WE ASKED readers on Facebook if the A816 needs crash barriers. There was an unequivocal afirmative response, especially given the tragedy that occurred near Kilmelford in July when two toddlers died Pat Trehan posted: ‘Yes. It’s a dangerous road, even when one is driving at reasonable speed to suit the conditions. It needs more policing too, or speed limits enforced by cameras – something to slow down the people who think 60 is too slow and need to pass, safely or not!’
