TOBERMORY lifeboat towed an 80-tonne vessel to safety on Monday night after it lost steering.
At 10.50pm the volunteer crew went to the aid of the commercial vessel to the east of the lighthouse at Rubha nan Gall in the Sound of Mull.
With favourable conditions, the crew decided the vessel could be taken under tow and secured alongside at the pontoons in Tobermory harbour, weaving through a chicane of small vessels and narrow passages between mooring buoys in the process.
