A QUANTITY of cannabis, valued at £38,400, was recovered by police during a search of a property near Broadford. Officers from the Portree and Kyle of Lochalsh local policing teams conducted a search of the premises on Saturday April 7 in response to information received from the community. A four-figure sum of money was also seized during the operation.
A 57-year-old man has been charged in connection with these recoveries and is expected to appear at court at a later date. Constable Jani Kari-Koskinen, who led the operation, said: ‘Yet again the Skye community has shown its commitment to working with us to remove controlled drugs from our streets and I wish to thank those who shared the information.
‘There remains no place for drugs in the Skye, Lochalsh and Applecross area, and I encourage anyone who has information to contact us on 101 or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.’
