A TWO-DAY celebration of the best food and drink Skye and Lochalsh have to offer takes place again this summer. Held in the Aros Centre, the Skye Food and Drink Festival returns to Portree in June for a series of cookery masterclasses, produce sampling and live music, including a cèilidh each evening. Inside the popular artisan producers’ market, there will be a wide variety of quality locallyproduced food and drink.
Chefs will be cooking up a storm in the food theatre marquee, with demonstrations from some of Skye’s most celebrated chefs, including Lady Claire MacDonald, Scott Davies and Calum Munro, along with patisserie chef of the year Helen Vass, as they showcase their culinary skills and give invaluable tips.
Festival-goers will also be able to explore the ‘taste trail’ and visit numerous eateries and hospitality outlets in the area and discover more locally grown and handcrafted goodness. Cate Devine, food writer from The Herald, will host the festival and will chair the Kitchen Corner Question Time. The festival takes place on June 13 and 14 between noon and 11pm on both days.
