THE community group behind the bid to buy Ulva has started an appeal to raise the funds needed.
It was announced last week that the islanders had been granted the right to register an interest to buy the tiny island. The North West Mull Community Woodland Company (NWMCWC) wants to buy Ulva so it can attract new residents and increase economic activity.
The 4,500-acre island off the west coast of Mull was put up for sale over the summer by owner Jamie Howard at offers over £4.25 million.
