A DEPUTE lord lieutenant of Argyll and Bute has apologised for building a hut which he did not know he needed planning permission for.
A retrospective planning application to erect a recreational hut on land approximately 830m north-east of the Atlantic Bridge near Clachan Farm was raised at Kilninver and Kilmelford Community Council’s meeting on October 10.
Applicant Graham MacQueen, a depute lord lieutenant, attended the meeting in Kilmelford with his agent, Allan Macaskill, a former leader of Argyll and Bute Council who now works as a planning consultant.
