DALMALLY – United Auctions held their annual show & sale of suckled calves at Dalmally Auction Mart on

Friday Ocotober 13 when 1230 head was sold. Bullocks sold to average £628.50 per head (-£9.90) or 235.45 pence per kilo (-3.8p) whilst Heifers levelled out at £535.79 per head (-£30.40) or 217.44 per kilo(-4.62p). Mr Allan Hall, Knockeen

Farm, Stranraer, ably judged the various classes at the show and his awards are as follows.

Autumn Born Bullock: 1st & Reserve

Overall - M Hall, Tombuie – Limousin

462k £1180. 2nd – M/s Taylor, Dall –

Limousin 340k £900. Autumn Born

Heifer: 1st – M/s Taylor – Limousin

370k £870. Spring Born Bullock: 1st

& 2nd – M/s McVicar, Lephinchapel –

BRB Cross 372k & 334k £1060 & £910 respectively. 3rd – M/s Taylor. Spring

Born Heifer: 1st & Overall Champion – M/s McVicar 308k £960. 2nd – M/s Taylor.

Overall, a good show of mainly hill type spring born calves was presented to a packed ringside of buyers.
