■ The March meeting of the Lochaber Local History Society sees John Dye of Acharacle speaking on one of his many interests - vitrified forts.

The enigma of these constructions, found in a number of places locally, has baffed archaeologists and historians for a century or two. John will be shining some new light when he speaks under the title – Vitrified Forts of Moidart: New Evidence for their Origin.

A compelling night is promised. Learn more at 8pm tonight, Thursday March 1, at the Ben Nevis Hotel. All welcome.
