BUSINESSES are being invited to apply for space at a new hub on the isle of Jura – and it would help if they could operate a petrol pump.
Jura Community Business Ltd, which runs the island’s petrol station in Craighouse, plans to establish a multi-purpose business space on an unused part of the site. Planning has been approved and discussions are ongoing to secure funding, The Oban Times understands.
The cost on one unit would be offset by the tenant attending to the daily operation of fuel dispersal, which, it is hoped, would provide full time availability of fuel and ensure the future of the petrol station. The directors also hope the affordable and adaptable business units will encourage growth of the local economy and provide employment.
