THE communities of Appin and the wider Lorn area have been praised after a daffodil tea raised in excess of £12,000 for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Held in Appin Village Hall on May 12, the fundraiser incorporated an auction and rafie, which benefited from a plethora of prizes donated by businesses in the area.

More than £7,000 was taken at the event, with proceeds from the auction and rafie expected to bring the total sum to £12,700.
