Nevis Centre in line for £850,000 work

A REFURBISHMENT costing more than £850,000 looks to be on the cards for Fort William’s Nevis Centre, despite an almost 50 per cent cut in funding.

Last Friday (November 18), the Highland Council’s Education, Children and Adult Services Committee (ECAS) held a special meeting to discuss third sector funding, where it was agreed that the Nevis Centre would see funding ‘slashed’ from around £166,000 in 2016/17 to £91,000 in 2018/19.

But cuts have not deterred the centre from announcing refurbishment plans which could take place over the next three years.
