A MAN who falsely claimed more than £8,000 in benefits was handed a fine of just £100.
Neil Holland Williams, from Keepers Cottage, Inverlair, Roy Bridge, received £8,160.15 from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) which he wasn’t entitled to.
The 54-year-old appeared in Fort William Sheriff Court last Tuesday August 16 and pleaded guilty to failing to notify the DWP of a change in circumstances, particularly of his employment with Edinburgh Woollen Mills.
