OBAN hospital staff and friends raised £4,500 for Macmillan Cancer Support at the Craggy Island Triathlon this month.
Seven teams from Lorn and Islands Hospital, comprising consultants, nurses and other medical staff, relayed the triathlon race, which sees competitors swim from Gallanach to the Isle of Kerrera, then ride 14km on a mountain bike, before running 8km over the bumpy offroad terrain.
‘It was challenging, but we all really enjoyed it,’ said triathlete Gillian Bisp. ‘Thank you to everyone who supported us with their donations. We were delighted to raise £4,500. Quite a few of us work in the day unit and see the difference Macmillan makes.’
