West of Scotland Cup - 2nd Round

FOUR goals in each half saw Saints ease comfortably into round three of the West of Scotland Amateur Cup at St Ambrose High School, Coatbridge, last Saturday morning.

The 11am kick off, a result of pitch availability issues, should have suited hosts Petershall Villa of the Strathclyde Saturday Morning Amateur Football League but it was the early risers from Argyll who prevailed.

The ‘Villains’ from Airdrie held out bravely for 26 minutes but once Saints made the breakthrough the result was never in any doubt.

Manager Alex Craik’s selection options, already restricted by holidays, injuries and work commitments, were dealt a further blow when illness and injury respectively forced Jamie Graham and Dougal Graham to withdraw from the travelling party shortly before the minibus left at 7am.
