HIGHLAND Council has agreed to re-instate gritting of Altour Road at Spean Bridge to the fire and rescue garage back onto the primary gritting list.
Spean Bridge, Roy Bridge and Achnacarry’s September meeting heard that, thanks to the intervention of councillor Allan Henderson, this stretch of road would now have 24/7 gritting coverage when required.
But the meeting also heard potholes on either side of the Gairlochy Bridge and on the B8004 at the Commando Memorial had still to be filled in. The council is to contact Highland Council and ask if it would consider naming the road from the A82 to the former Kilmonivaig School following difficulties with utility firms.
