SIX PORTEE High School pupils joined dozens of other Gaelic-speaking students from across Scotland to work towards their John Muir Award courses and to celebrate the link between the language, the land and the natural world.
Holly Tait, Gemma Taylor, Charlie Anderson, Emma McPherson, Seumas Tinney and Ewan Jeffrey focused on Scorrybreac Wood where they set up a trail camera to film wildlife, including an otter.
The event, held in Tomintoul, was organised by Comunn na Gàidhlig, which for the past five years has worked in partnership with the John Muir Trust to deliver hundreds of Duais Iain Muir courses to Gaelic medium pupils (from S1 upwards).
