International collaboration is a highlight of early summer activities at SRUC

ANOTHER milestone in the farm calendar is now complete, as we finished marking our lambs in the past few weeks.

The SRUC stand at this year’s Royal Highland Show.

Lambs in our Kirkton research flock were all blood sampled by our colleagues from Moredun Research Institute in Edinburgh, as part of our ongoing ‘Targeted Selective Treatment’ approach to worming. They are working with us to investigate if there are any genetic markers which can be used to identify whether an individual lamb is more or less resilient to internal parasites.
