Oban Lorne lose out to Carrick

Oban Lorne 22

Carrick 44

BT West Division 1

OBAN Lorne welcomed 2016 National Shield Winners Carrick to Glencruitten on Saturday in what could be the last home game of the season for the Green Machine.

Carrick, who inflicted a heavy 51-5 defeat on Oban Lorne in October, were on a high after defeating Highland 34-27 on April 17 to lift the National Shield title.

Despite the teams sitting only a place apart in the table there is a huge gap of almost 30 points between the sides. Oban, missing some key players including captain Cammy Smith, brother Struan and Centre Dave Mc-Cabe, were hoping to close the divide in the table between the sides.
