Council hits out at Audit Scotland

COUNCILLORS last week accused Audit Scotland of failing to understand Argyll and Bute Council’s problems.

The move came as members agreed to continue an improvement plan designed to address a number of issues identified earlier in the year by Audit Scotland.

At last Thursday’s council meeting in Kilmory, council leader Dick Walsh reminded members of the ‘challenging timetable’ and cuts to funding faced by the authority while setting the 2016/17 budget.
