Magnificent seven for Finlay Wild

‘The route changed a bit but it wasn’t a problem’


CHANGES to a historic race failed to phase competitors as Finlay Wild from Lochaber Athletics Club took home his seventh win.

Lochaber Athletic Club members who took part in the Ben Race.

The Ben Nevis Race took place in Fort William on Sunday. The week before the event, competitors had been warned to stay off the grass or face a lifetime ban from the race. Event secretary of the event Mickey Whitehead said the decision has been coming for years. He added: ‘We want to keep the area good so we can keep the race going. It was one the committee had to make at some point and now was as good a time as any. I wasn’t shocked by it.’
