A TELEPHONE scam asking patients to swap traditional medicines for herbal ones at huge costs has been discovered in Argyll.
Members of the public are receiving the calls from people claiming to be from their GP practice, NHS Highland said.
The caller asks questions about medical conditions before going on to ask about specific medication and advising them to buy herbal remedies. Credit card details are then asked for. The medicines have been known to cost upwards of £200. When the criminals have taken the card details they are then used to pay for other items.
