SECONDARY students in Lochaber may soon have a four-and-a-half-day week thanks to new timetabling plans.
According to the Highland Council, a decision to move towards the 33-period week was made back in 2014, following much discussion about the educational benefits, and in particular the importance of sustaining rural education.
A spokesperson added: ‘It is the council’s intention to move towards a common time tabling format as this will allow wider access to senior courses for Highland pupils. The first stage of this process is to move all secondary schools to the 33-period week and will finish early on a Friday.
