United Auctions held their early spring sale of all classes cattle at Dalmally Auction Mart, also sale of all classes sheep. A much increased entry on the year of cattle saw 226 head of cattle and 318 sheep sold to a good ringside of buyers. Bullocks sold to average £759 per head or 245 pence per kilo against £746 per head or 239 pence per kilo last year and heifers levelled out at £655 per head or 229 pence per kilo against £676 per head or 215 pence per kilo. Bullocks and heifers sold to a top per head of £1050 & £900 respectively, both consigned by M/s Anderson, Barnakill, Tullochcan, led the kilo prices with Limousin bullocks selling to 311 pence while Achnacone sold their Limousin heifers to 280 pence per kilo.
