Cuan Mor

ONE OF the busiest restaurants in Oban is the hugely popular Cuan Mor, with its enviable location looking out over the bay and right at the heart of George Street. Always busy, Cuan Mor has built a fine reputation for its food, as well as its informal ambience. And much of the credit for that goes to its head chef, Ian Ward.

Ian is a born and bred Obanite who has never moved away from the town – and says he has never wanted to. ‘I was born here and I’ve been here all my days,’ he says. Ian has been head chef at Cuan Mor for nearly five years now and loves the job. Prior to that, he worked at the Waterfront Fishouse on South Pier, owned by the same company, having started his cooking career 10 years ago.
